Dota 2: ESL One Fall Bootcamp Edition- All Teams And Format

This will sure be a great boot camp for the teams.

The ESL One Fall Bootcamp Edition will feature twelve teams competing for a $400,000 prize pool. The tournament is set to take place from August 21-24, 2021. Postponement of The International 10 could leave a big void in competitions but the Fall Bootcamp will definitely help the scene rejoice and give an opportunity for TI teams to practice.

Format

The tournament will comprise two groups of six teams each for Group Stages in a single round-robin format. All matches will be best-of-two. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Upper Bracket of Playoffs, while the 3rd and 4th teams will compete in the Lower Bracket. All matches in the double-elimination bracket will be best-of-three, while the Grand Finals will feature best-of-five games.

Participating Teams

ESL recently announced all the teams taking part in the tournament including Alliance, Team Liquid, Team Spirit, T1, Thunder Predator, PSG.LGD, beastcoast, Virtus.pro, Tundra Esports and SG esports. Teams who successfully made it out of the closed qualifiers include Team Empire and Creepwave.

Teams To Watch Out For

The ESL One tournament will consist of an in-form team like PSG.LGD, who won the AniMajor after defeating a strong Evil Geniuses. LGD are favorites to win the competition. However, there are other teams to keep an eye on.

T1

T1 will fight hard after their amazing run to the Semifinals of the Kyiv Major and positive performances in the DPC this year. The Southeast Asian team will most likely be second favorites because of their incredible team chemistry and soaring confidence.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid has had some disappointing results in the recent Major tournaments. They were knocked out against Vici Gaming in the Lower Bracket of Singapore Major and their run in the AniMajor was limited to Group Stages. This is a great opportunity for the squad to bounce back into action.

Virtus.pro

VP has been good in the DPC seasons but somehow couldn’t perform in the Major tournaments. Losing to Thunder Predator in the LB of Singapore Major and facing a similar fate in the next Major competition, VP has unfinished business. This tournament will act as a great opportunity for them to practice before they dive into The International 10.

Alliance

Alliance has had quite a shuffle in their squad in the past year. They also had a short stint with Peter “ppd” Dager as their coach this year. However, if the team stays put as it is, Gustav “s4” Magnusson will lead them into the competition. Alliance has nothing to lose in the tournament, but they have a lot to prove to their fans and themselves. They have shown brilliant performances in both Dota Pro Circuit seasons but somehow fell short in the Majors. Alliance has a good chance to get things right with ESL One Fall.

Apart from the above teams, Team Spirit and Thunder Predator will also fancy their chances in the tournament. Both of them have great potential and could prove to be a strong team on their best days.
