Dota 2: Na’Vi Shakes Up Roster In Preparation For TI10

SoNNeiko and No[o]ne leaves AS Monaco Gambit to join Navi.

Navi COO, Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov, announced the team’s latest moves on Navi’s Twitter. He reported that after ending up sixth in the Upper Division of the DPC Season 2 and failing to qualify for the WePlay AniMajor, the team had discussions and the split was inevitable.

They bid goodbye to Bohdan “Iceberg” Vasylenko, who was a part of the Navi squad that won first place in the OGA Dota PIT Season 4 for the Europe/CIS division in December 2020. Andrey “Mag” Chipenko has also stepped down from the main roster to a coaching position.

Navi welcomes back Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, who was a huge part of Na’Vi’s many accomplishments from 2015 to 2019. Recently he was playing for AS Monaco Gambit and also qualified for the WePlay AniMajor’s Wildcard rounds but decided to leave the team as he couldn’t see the team getting enough DPC points to qualify for TI10. Although his current deal with Na’Vi is limited to helping the team qualify for TI10, the organization has stated that it will consider “possible future collaboration” depending on the outcomes achieved.

Navi has picked up another player, Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko, who was also from AS Monaco Gambit. He was a Virtus.pro mainstay from 2016 to 2020 before moving over to Just Error and then to AS Monaco Gambit. He said, “It was only logic that dictated my decision. I count on the support of #navination.”

Navi had considered taking in No[o]ne into its roster earlier too but they had decided on hiring Iceberg instead. Now, it’s the 23-year old Ukrainian’s chance to prove his mettle by helping the team achieve its objective.

Looking forward for Na’Vi

After the changes, the Natus Vincere roster is as follows:

  • Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey
  • Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko
  • Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev
  • Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan
  • Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev
  • Andrey “Mag” Chipenko (coach)
  • Sergey “AnahRoniX” Bikovskiy (manager)

With these shocking changes, AS Monaco Gambit is forced to play at WePlay AniMajor with two substitutes. AS Monaco Gambit showed their displeasure on their Twitter. They also mentioned Stanislav “633” Glushan and Artem “Lorenof” Melnik will represent Gambit at the upcoming Major.

SoNNeikO expressed his apology via his Twitter and mentioned that he didn’t believe in the success of this roster.

While there are no penalties for individual players, the organization suffers. AS Monaco Gambit will lose 40% on the DPC points on the points they earned for this tournament as they will play with a sub. They will lose another 20% for playing with a sub after being qualified for the Major. For more information on penalties, check out Dota 2’s official site.
