Epic Esports Events unveils third season of EPIC League

Russian esports tournament organiser Epic Esports Events has announced the launch of the third season of Dota 2’s EPIC League.

The league will feature 16 teams from Europe and the CIS region competing for a share of $100,000 (~£72,840) in prize money.

The group stage of the event will take place from March 2nd-13th while the first division playoffs will begin on March 14th and conclude on March 21st.

Despite announcing details about EPIC League, Epic Esports Events has yet to reveal which teams will be participating in the event. According to the release, team announcements are expected to be ‘gradually’ revealed soon.

Season three of EPIC League will be one of the first online tournaments to take place before the ONE Esports Singapore Major, the first Major of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit season.

Mark Averbukh, Product Director at Epic Esports Events, spoke on the news in a release: “We are pleased to introduce the third season of EPIC League, which will take place from March 2 to 21 and bring together 16 teams from the CIS and Europe.

“At the moment, we are at the final stage of negotiations with the participants and will gradually announce them on our platforms. I am sure that the upcoming tournament will be a great show for all Dota 2 fans.”

During the second season of EPIC League, the tournament organiser entered a range of partnerships with the likes of Chinese firm Haval and sports betting company Parimatch. Epic Esports Events is also a member of ESforce holding.

Esports Insider says: EPIC League has become one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments for European and CIS teams to compete in. With the start of the season just around the corner, expect new and returning partners to be revealed before the action gets underway.
