With this partnership, Samsung’s brand will be visible on the players’ jerseys during all of Team Gullit’s FIFA 22 matches in the coming season. Besides the in-game content, both entities will also collaborate on streams, events, videos, and giveaways.
Gerben van Walt Meijer, Marketing Manager Mobile of Samsung Netherlands, said: “When it comes to innovation and marketing, Samsung is more than happy to get the ball rolling. As the first shirt sponsor of Team Gullit, we contribute to a new generation of FIFA players through the FIFA academy and numerous activations. We are looking forward to making this a success!”
In addition, Team Gullit players Levi de Weerd and Dani Visser have become gaming ambassadors for Samsung.
Last year, Team Gullit’s kit also appeared in FIFA 21, thanks to the good results of its esports players in the FIFA Global Series. This year, Team Gullit’s jersey will be available, for gamers to pick once again, in FIFA Ultimate Team.
Corné Dubelaar, Founder of Team Gullit, added: “I am extremely proud that we will work with Samsung. This deal shows the growth of Team Gullit. We now have the prestige and reach of a top international team. It’s cool to see that Samsung is also one of the first companies to invest into the esports domain with in-game shirt sponsorship.”

The partnership between Team Gullit and Samsung was established by the gaming label of creative agency 2Basics The Invaders.
Kevin Loos, Client Lead of The Invaders, said: “We get brands in touch with gamers. The starting point of the partnership is Samsung’s in-game integration into the FIFA game. Through the collaboration with Team Gullit, we create an entrance for Samsung during the ‘game moment’ of young people. Through this collaboration, Samsung can build a lasting relationship with this group through the touchpoint that is gaming.”
Esports Insider says: Team Gullit has secured a strong jersey sponsor with the help of The Invaders. In the past, Samsung has tapped into the esports industry through various collaborations and has now wisely chosen to join forces with Team Gullit to reach and engage with a younger audience.
