18 Sep Dota 2: TI 10 Teams Preview – Undying
A new team with great promise and talent.
Team Undying is relatively new in the competitive scene. Formed before the DPC this year, it is only recently that the organization changed its name from “Undying” to “Team Undying”. They are an interesting bunch to keep tabs on in The International 10. After finishing third in both the Dota Pro Circuit seasons, their squad has shown its potential in the North American scene. Let’s have a closer look at their team before we jump on their chances in the upcoming competition.
The Team And Its Journey
When it comes to the squad, Team Undying have had the same five players since its inception. Except for a few developments in the organization, the team has held quite strong in the past nine months.
Their Peruvian Position-1 player Enzo “Timado” Gianoli O’Connor has played with popular teams like Infamous and VGJ.Storm. He has experience of playing in Major competitions like the Kiev Major. The Position-2 player, Jonathan Bryle “Bryle” Santos De Guia, has played well in the DPC seasons with a fair amount of experience in the NA scene.
Jonáš “SabeRLight-“ Volek plays Position-3 for the team. The Czech professional has played with teams like Team Singularity and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Commanding the Position-4 role, David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang is someone to lookout for in Undying’s team. A veteran with experiences from compLexity Gaming, OG and Digital Chaos, MoonMeander is definitely one of the senior figures in their squad.
Team Undying have a talented Korean player, Kim “DuBu” Doo-young as their Position-5. A polished player who has played for Digital Chaos and Team Phoenix, DuBu has also coached and played for Fnatic for a short period.

The North American team had great chemistry, but it seems they are now going to build even more synergy. Thanks to Kim “Febby” Yong-min joining them as coach. It was recently that the team announced Febby as their coach, a popular figure in the Dota 2 scene who has played with teams like Fnatic and Mineski. He has also coached and played for TNC Predator.
Team Undying’s DPC runs are an example of their performances against big teams. That said, the team had a brilliant run in the NA qualifiers, where they beat 4 Zoomers to book their place in TI 10. Their recent participation in OGA Dota PIT Invitational saw the team go against PSG.LGD, which went 2-1 in the latter’s favour. Later, they faced Team Spirit in the Lower Bracket with a similar result to the game.
Odds In The International 10
The International 10 will be a tough nut to crack for Team Undying. They seem to have good unity in their team, but that alone won’t be enough to sail through the rough waters. Whatever the result, Team Undying will gain an immense amount of experience from participating in the biggest event Valve offers. Hopefully, they can build on it and improve as a team to challenge even the best ones in Dota 2.
