The company delayed the dates of Dota 2’s biggest tournament, which was initially planned to start in August. Although Valve has mentioned no specific reasons for the delay, it is mostly because of a quick change in locations and the resurgence of the pandemic.
Valve was looking for alternative locations to Stockholm, Sweden who denied hosting the event even after several attempts from the company to resolve the issues. However, it looks like Romania fits Valve’s needs perfectly. They will hold the tournament at Arena Nationala, which is the biggest stadium in the Southeastern European country.
As it now stands, TI10 will feature its Group Stage from October 7-10. Additionally, the Main Stage play starts off on October 1. Two of the best teams in the tournament will face each other in the Grand Finals on October 17. Valve shared that the company was grateful to Romania and the city of Bucharest for their partnership in hosting the event. The community is now looking forward to enjoying the event both in person and virtually.
