Fortnite: Cloakzy Leaves Faze Clan After Two-year Contract Dispute

Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore ended his four-year stint with Faze Clan a few months before his contract officially expires in May 2021.

The esports sensation had been in a legal battle with the team since the summer of 2019. Cloakzy followed teammate Turner “Tfue” Tenney in seeking a legal solution to his dissatisfaction with his contract. Tfue’s contract allegedly allowed Faze to take 80% of the player’s winnings and also disallowed him from acquiring sponsorships without the organization’s consent. Tfue’s contract with Faze Clan was mutually dissolved.

Details of Cloakzy’s contract with Faze Clan weren’t released. But the player claims he didn’t even know why he signed the contract.

Cloakzy was a prize-winning Fortnite player before he took up Call of Duty Warzone in the middle of 2020. He is a content creator and has a popular stream on Twitch.  He also has over one million subscribers to his youtube channel.

Cloakzy issued the following statement: “I want to apologize for everything negative I’ve said about FaZe Clan as we worked through my contract. I am grateful for everything they’ve done for me, and am happy we have come to an agreement to part ways. I wish nothing but the best for everyone over at FaZe.”

Rumors abound as to where the popular gamer will be headed next. There is no doubt, however, that whichever organization picks him up will also gain a huge number of fans.
