Vivo Keyd renews naming rights deal

Brazilian esports organisation Vivo Keyd has announced the renewal of its long-standing naming rights deal with the telecom Vivo.

As a result of the deal, Vivo will stay on as the main partner of Keyd for another two years.

When the new contract expires in 2024, Vivo and Keyd will have collaborated for ten years, making it one of the longest naming rights deals in the esports sector. The first deal was settled in 2014 and the latest renewal to date was made in 2020.

Shortly after renewing the deal in 2020, Vivo Keyd was dealt a hard blow after being left out of Riot Games’ Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL) franchise. Given the relevant history the organisation has in League of Legends, it was a shock to the community and for Keyd itself when it could not make it in to the competition.

However, in 2021 rose back to prominence, conquering the Brazilian Free Fire League (LBFF) and its regional VALORANT Challengers. Keyd also had relevant results in Wild Rift and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, whilst also making it to the world stage in VALORANT Champions Berlin 2021 and the Mobile Legends M3 World Championship Singapore. It would have also played the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) in November that year if the event wasn’t cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides its naming rights partner Vivo, Keyd also holds sponsorship deals with Motorola, peripherals brand ELG and the blockchain company Liqi, which is also responsible for providing Vivo Keyd fan tokens.

Vivo Keyd CEO, Tiago Xisto, told Esports Insider:”We are very happy with the renewal because we believe that this moment is very interesting. We are going to explore 5G and all the fronts of Metaverse with the largest telecom company in Latin America.”

Vivo is a brand from Telefônica Brasil, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Spanish group Telefónica.
