Brazilian organisation LOUD is the most tweeted esports team so far in 2022, according to infographics and information released by social media platform Twitter.
According to Twitter, the first half of 2022 has seen 1.5bln tweets be made about gaming and esports, a 36% increase over the same period in 2021. The second and third most tweeted about esports teams were French organisation Karmine Corp and Japan-based team Crazy Racoon, respectively.

The social media platform noted in a release that the big increase in gaming-related content was fueled by the popularity of both gaming content, and esports teams and leagues. The release of Elden Ring, as well as the Xbox Showcase and Playstation State of Play, were noted as the most popular topics for gaming. Meanwhile, VALORANT Champions Tour and PGL CS:GO Major Antwerp performed very well on the esports front.
Although the most tweeted game was not an esports title, but rather Genshin Impact, both Apex Legends and VALORANT managed to earn a spot in the top ten. Apex ended up at sixth place, while Riot’s new FPS secured ninth place.
FaZe Clan places fourth as the most tweeted esports team on the platform with another Brazilian team, Pain Gaming finishing fifth. G2 Esports and T1 come in sixth and seventh, while Los Grandes are eighth. The list is then concluded by Fnatic and Furia, finishing ninth and tenth respectively. Four of the ten most popular teams come from a single region, which goes to show how active Brazilian fans are in support of their teams.
Looking especially at the UK and European audiences, things are obviously different. The most tweeted esports team in the UK is FaZe Clan, followed by G2 Esports and local powerhouse Fnatic. G2 also took the number one spot in Spain, followed by Heretics and Fnatic. In France, local organisations Karmine Korp and Team Vitality secured the top two places. More information delving into European Twitter statistics can be found on a thread.
When it comes to esports players, Brazil takes prominence again. Gabriel ‘FalleN‘ Toledo is the most popular, followed by TenZ, Nobru, Fnx and Rekkles. Out of the top five players, three come from Brazil.
It then comes as no surprise that the esports league that saw most tweets is CBLOL, the Brazilian League of Legends league. It is followed by Apex Esports, the LCK, Call of Duty League and Overwatch League. The most listened to space in gaming and esports is the topic of Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard, however the talk about 100 Thieves and the LCS also made it into the top three.
