European esports organisation QLASH has raised €2.6m (~£2.2m) in a seed round featuring business angels in the sports world, as well as investors from the entertainment industry.

The investors in this round include Italian UFC fighter Marvin Vettori, volleyball world champion Francesca Piccinini and Real Betis footballer Victor Camarasa.

According to the organisation, the investment will be used to further develop QLASH’s Community platform and to help expand it into new markets.

QLASH is an Italian esports organisation created in 2017. The company is primarily known for its success in mobile esports titles. QLASH recently started working on expansion in the MENA and LATAM regions and is commonly known to be one of the most influential organisations in Europe.

Aside from the mentioned investors, QLASH announced that the round is also supported by figures from the entertainment industry and professional poker players Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Jeff Gross and Daniel Cates.

The QLASH Community platform is used to organise events and tournaments in a large number of esports titles, such as FIFA, Clash Royale, Fortnite, Brawl Stars and PUBG. According to the company, the app has more than 20,000 monthly users and was used to organise at least 3000 esports events.

QLASH is also known for being the partner of AC Milan, one of the most successful football clubs in Europe.

Already active in more than 15 esports, we will utilize the proceeds from the fundraising to expand our presence into new markets and to invest heavily in our proprietary community platform. “
