Dubbed CLG Run It Thursdays, the tournaments will be open to participants at every level. An $800 (~£672) prize pot will be split between US East and West Coast brackets, with the top eight competitors receiving shares of the prize pool.
For its debut, the tournaments will take place across Street Fight V and Guilty Gear Strive. However, the organisation has stated that it intends to host tournaments for additional fighting game communities, specifically naming Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball Fighter Z.
According to CLG, the tournament structure looks to provide top talent and new entrants to the FGC with additional opportunities to test their skills in a competitive environment. As such, the organisation will allow an unlimited number of matches during the open ladder.
The CLG Run It Thursdays top eight brackets for both East and West Coast will be broadcast via the organisation’s official Twitch channel.
CLG’s new competitive FGC roster, CLG FGC, has signed players Brian_F and Cuddle_Core to compete in Street Fighter and Tekken, respectively. Two additional players are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
