Mathey joined NYXL in 2018 as its Head of Partnerships where she secured deals with the likes of United Airlines and esports performance firm Adamas Esports. Prior to joining the company, she was the Chief Operating Officer of food content platform Tasting Table.
In addition, Mathey will oversee all of the company’s marketing and public relations for its rosters. Moreover, she will overlook the fourth Call of Duty League (CDL) tournament taking place from July 14th-17th at the King’s Theatre.
The appointment follows the organisation’s rebrand from Andbox to NYXL in a bid to develop New York City (NYC) into ‘the world capital of esports and gaming culture.’ In May, the company also secured a deal with esports agency SPORTFIVE to support the growth of its esports and gaming verticals.

Mathey, the newly appointed CRO of NYXL, spoke about her new role: “It’s an exciting time to be in esports and in New York. Not only are we scaling our business and growing our audience, but we are developing content and creative opportunities that are appealing to brands that align with their growth strategies such as hosting New York’s first-ever Call of Duty League tournament in Brooklyn in July.
“I am thrilled to work with James, Farzam, and the entire NYXL team as we look to the future.”
Over the next 12 months, NYXL aims to invest heavily in NYC’s gaming and esports scene through the launch of new initiatives that include a young creator project to scout aspiring content creators.
