The deal marks Star Sports’ first foray into the esports industry. The BGMI Masters Series joins a range of sporting events shown by the broadcaster, which includes the Olympics and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
In addition, NODWIN Gaming has appointed Vishal Parekh as its Chief Marketing Officer. The company states that Parekh will play an instrumental role in strengthening NODWIN’s reach across Indian and global markets.
As such, Parekh will implement a global marketing and communication strategy to support the firm’s aspirations to grow.

Akshat Rathee, MD and Co-founder of NODWIN Gaming, spoke on the partnership: “We have been working tirelessly through the pandemic to build the foundation for such a big collaboration. This is a very big step for us in the right direction as we now take esports to the masses. So far, esports has always been associated with live streaming on digital platforms.”
“Through this collaboration with a mainstream sports channel, we hope to break that mould. Satellite television does have its advantages like its unrivalled reach across every nook and corner of the country, uninterrupted and timely broadcast that is not dependent on internet connectivity and speed as well as affordability for the masses living in far-out areas.
Founded in 2014, NODWIN Gaming continues to expand its reach across India and the global esports market. In February, the company secured a four-year deal with esports tournament platform Challengermode.
