ESL Gaming announces esports titles for Snapdragon Pro Series

Esports tournament organiser ESL Gaming and processor manufacturer Qualcomm Technologies have announced the titles included in the Snapdragon Pro Series, a global mobile esports ecosystem.

Separated within the series’ three competitive tiers, the Snapdragon Mobile Open will feature PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9: Legends and Legends of Runeterra. The Snapdragon Mobile Challenge will see competitions in Clash of Clans, Free Fire and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Meanwhile, ESL’s highest tier, the Snapdragon Mobile Masters, will feature Brawl Stars.

Alongside the title announcements, ESL Gaming also revealed additional details surrounding the series. According to the release, ESL Gaming has partnered with PUBG MOBILE to integrate the PUBG Mobile Club Open into the Snapdragon Mobile Open for the title’s North American, European and MENA regions.

Each of the six regions included in the ecosystem (North America, Europe, the Middle East, China, North Africa, and Asia-Pacific) will feature its own set of game titles across multiple genres based on relevance in said regions.

EU, MENA and NA players will be able to compete in PUBG Mobile, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale and Asphalt 9: Legends. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific region will feature Brawl Stars, Free Fire, League of Legends: Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra.

Game titles and further details about the Snapdragon Pro Series in India and China are yet to be announced. The series is set to commence on April 12th with a total prize pool that amounts to $2m (£1.52m).

The final events of the Snapdragon Mobile Challenge in the NA, EU/MENA, and Asia-pacific regions, as well as the Snapdragon Mobile Masters event, are expected to be live and in-person for both fans and competitors.

Moreover, participating players will compete using devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile platforms and equipped with Snapdragon Elite Gaming features. The Snapdragon Pro Series is part of a multi-year agreement between both entities announced earlier this month.

Rosenblatt commented on the announcement: “We can’t wait to see the world’s best players battle it out. We have truly created an inclusive ecosystem where everyone can compete.

“Whether you are a casual player or a seasoned competitive pro, we are looking forward to welcoming you into the Snapdragon Pro Series!”

Esports Insider says: Splitting mobile titles into regions according to their relevance might seem like a logical decision, however, it remains to be seen how this will work in such a complex ecosystem. Nevertheless, it’s still promising to see more development when it comes to mobile esports, particularly within the West.
