OVHcloud and Team Liquid announced that the new partnership brings a number of new possibilities for the website. According to a release, the Liquipedia team is now prepared to introduce new features and platforms in the future. These include additional servers for high availability and possibilities for horizontal scaling of traffic.

OVHcloud US General Manager, Jeffrey Gregor, commented: “It’s an honour for OVHcloud US to have been chosen by the world’s largest esports wiki based on the technology preferences of Team Liquid’s chief information officer and team.

“VHcloud has considerable international experience working with gamers, and we’re pleased to count Liquipedia’s 38m annual unique users among those we support.”

Liquipedia, as its name suggests, is an online encyclopedia that records information for more than 30 games and esports titles. Founded in 2006, Liquipedia is the largest esports knowledge base in the world.

Erik Saler, head of Liquipedia, added: “OVHcloud’s approach is different – rooted in better performance and reliability through excellent uptime; burstable bandwidth capabilities that allow us to deal with immense traffic peaks; superior DDoS protection that’s critical in absorbing and fighting against cyberattacks; and lower total cost of ownership considering the unlimited bandwidth and bare-metal servers that we rely on to service millions of gamers and developers worldwide”

Esports Insider says: Liquipedia is the fan-favourite source of information about esports events and teams. The new partnership with a known cloud computing provider will allow the website to scale faster, and be more stable while doing so.
