13 Nov Team Elephant No Longer Has A Dota 2 team
Sadly, Elephant’s Dota 2 roster will no longer take part in upcoming tournaments.
Despite having a lot of potential, Elephant decided to release its Dota 2 roster after failing to live up to the expectations. Following the recent announcement, the entire Dota 2 team is now inactive and all players are released from their contracts.
After TI 9 came to an end, we saw a lot of roster changes in many teams, especially in China. This is where Elephant was born, a Dota 2 team whose plan was to feature some of the best teams in the region. Unfortunately, the players were unable to prove that they are among the best after failing to win against the big names in the region.
The team took part in several Chinese competitions, as well as in the DPC season. Although Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao and his teammates managed to secure a sport for TI 10, they barely managed to leave the group stage. Following their disappointing performance, the Chinese squad was eliminated.
What now?
After Elephant’s decision, everyone who used to be a part of the team is now a free agent. The only exception is Xie “Super” Junhao, who was playing for Elephant on a loan from Royal Never Give Up.
We will have to wait and see whether Elephant will bounce back in the competitive Dota 2 scene. We will probably see more transfers in the future, so it will be interesting to follow this organization’s future. Keep in mind that the new DPC starts in just a couple of days.
