10 Oct Fortnite’s Most Consistent Trio May Have Just Split
NA East players Edgey and Cented agree to split as a trio, causing a shake-up before FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 8.
Only a handful of players and teams in Fortnite history can pride themselves on consistency. Some that come to mind are Montreal, Mitr0 and Benjyfishy (MMB) — who made the European region look like amateurs back in Season X. Others have come and gone, but one thing is for sure — consistently breeds success in this Battle Royale.
Fortnite has evolved immensely since Season X, which makes being a consistent team much more challenging. The most accurate present-day example of MMB was the NA East team of FaZe Cented, NRG Edgey and TSM FTX Commandment. These three players have done the unthinkable four consecutive seasons in a row.
The low-ground kings finished second in Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Season 4, Season 5, Season 6 and Season 7. It’s unfathomable to think they did not win the Axe of Champions despite being so close every season. Chapter 2 – Season 8 could have been their time to break the curse finally, but it may never happen. Cented, Edgey and Commandment announced today that they would no longer compete together in Fortnite.
Edgey Replaced by STRETCH
Edgey is one of the best players I know, great in and out of the game. We’ve played together too long and started to lose our friendship in doing so. Edgey takes Misty and we go to the Lakes

Roster changes in competitive Fortnite are tough to report due to impression farming. It’s always important to remember that what you see on Twitter might not be a reality. However, recent tweets from Cented and Edgey seem legitimate.
The two players took to Twitter after the NA East DreamHack Open concluded. Edgey wrote, “Had a good run with cented craziest player ive had the chance of playing with but in the end time can just do crazy things and spread people a part.”
It seemed odd, considering how well the three have performed for more than a year. Cented too had words, stating, “Edgey is one of the best players I know, great in and out of the game. We’ve played together too long and started to lose our friendship in doing so. Edgey takes Misty and we go to the Lakes.”
Surprisingly, the split appears to be legitimate. Cented and Commandment announced Liquid STRETCH as their third teammate. Stretch’s former teammates — Bugha and Mero — also tweeted out their need for a third player. It’s either a well-orchestrated troll or Fortnite’s most consistent trio in history has called it quits.
Edgey Reveals New Trio

Edgey didn’t take very long to find a new team. He revealed newly signed Manchester City Esports player Threats and Rise as his teammates. The three plan to land at Holly Hedges, despite Cented conceding Misty Meadows to Edgey. It’s a bizarre situation without question—why would a team with an average placement of second in the Fortnite Champion Series split?
Friendship appears to be more valuable to Cented and Edgey, but it’s a strange situation nonetheless. Again, the perennial runners-up could be back together within the week. That’s just how competitive Fortnite operates. We’ll have to take a wait-and-see approach as the scene prepares for the first FNCS Qualifier of Season 8.
