Ari Segal, Immortals’s CEO, has been promoted to Co-Managing Director of IGC, Executive Chairman of Immortals and Gamers Club, as well as non-Executive Chairman of MIBR.

Moreover, Tomi Kovanen, the current COO of Immortals, has been named as Executive Vice-Chair of Immortals, MIBR and Gamers Club, as well as IGC’s Co-Managing Director.

According to the release, the restructuring has been designed to ‘hasten IGC’s growth and operating efficiency’ across its core businesses. Immortals Gaming Club operates four key esports brands and business units: Immortals, MIBR, Gamers Club, and LA Valiant.

Yuri Uchiyama will now hold the position of Executive Chairman of MIBR whilst still being Gamers Club’s CEO. The last executive promotion sees Jordan Sherman, IGC’s President and Chief Commercial Officer, become CEO of Immortals.

In addition to the promotions, IGC has also hired Roberta Coelho as MIBR’s CEO. Coelho was formerly the CFO and Head of Business Development for music festival Rock in Rio. Moreover, she was the CEO of Game XP, a gaming and esports festival in Brazil.

This slew of changes is accompanied by the announcement of a new venture in competitive gaming outside of IGC’s esports team operations. Segal and Kovanen announced the formation of this new venture, but more information has yet to be disclosed.

Ari Segal, new Co-Managing Director of IGC, commented: “I am immensely proud of the work we’ve done at IGC over the last several years. The businesses that have been built and the platforms our leaders now have to grow their respective businesses – comprehensively and across the operating assets individually – are a testament to a relentless pursuit of product-market fit and a team with the character to take chances and never settle.”

Esports Insider says: A slew of corporate changes within IGC has resulted in its entities becoming more tied together. Interestingly, for a restructuring effort of this size, only one new hire was announced, and there is certainly a lot of intrigue regarding how IGC will continue to grow and function.
