Fortnite Leaks Reveal ICON Series Game Mode In The Works

Leaks today in the Fortnite Battle Royale scene indicate a string of ICON Series Limited Time Modes (LTMs) in the works.

Fortnite’s ICON Series dates back to the Marshmello skin—released in 2019. Since the well-known DJ and music producer entered Fortnite, many notable figures have followed in and out of the scene. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Lachlan “Lachlan” Power, David “TheGrefg” Cánovas Pol Martínez and Lannan “LazarBeam” Eacott are some of the many celebrities and personalities to be honored with an in-game Fortnite cosmetic set.

While most of these collaborations date back as early as 2020, Epic Games typically brings them back a few times per year to give fans a chance to purchase them. The developers ventured into unchartered territory when Fortnite World Champion — Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf — joined the ICON Series. Not only did Bugha receive an in-game cosmetic set, but Epic also worked with him to construct a Limited Time Mode (LTM) called Bugha’s Late Game.

Information today indicates that Epic is working to include other ICON Series members in a different version of Bugha’s Late Game.

Lachlan, TheGrefg and LazarBeam LTMs?

Epic are working on an ICONs only Bugha Late Game LTM. So far it has 3 but it’s still *UNFINISHED*, and when you go in, you spawn as their skin & loadout:

– TheGrefg: Mythic Goldfish & Balloons
– Lachlan: Rift-To-Go, Rusty Cans & Shockwave Grenade
– LazarBeam: YEET Flight-Knock

Fortnite leaker HYPEX took to Twitter with some curious evidence, pointing towards ICON Series LTMs. Structured like Bugha’s Late Game—which is coming back soon—Epic is working on a similar game mode where players spawn in as an ICON Series member.

For example, those who queue into this ICON Series-only playlist can start as TheGrefg’s skin with a Mythic Goldfish and Balloons. This concept deviates from the competitiveness of Bugha’s Late Game, so it could be more enjoyable for players that want to try it out.

Here are the loadouts per HYPEX’s tweet:

TheGrefg: Mythic Goldfish & Balloons
Lachlan: Rift-To-Go, Rusty Cans & Shockwave Grenade
LazarBeam: YEET Flight-Knock

Epic has not released any information regarding this spin on the Late Game mode. However, we know that the standard Arena Late Game playlist is due to return on October 4. Perhaps Epic will have details in between now and then. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for official word from the developers.
