Team Liquid’s involvement with the event builds on a multi-year partnership that it signed with IMC back in February 2021. The event will be the second time the two parties have collaborated after IMC was named as a supporting partner for a hackathon event known as Liquid Hacks.

Victor Goossens, Founder and Co-CEO of Team Liquid, spoke on the collaboration in a release: “A big part of our decision to partner with IMC was because of a shared desire to help others. It’s incredible that we’re able to do this while playing games.

“We encourage all of our fans to tune in, watch the matches and support our players as we try to make this the most successful year yet for Room to Read.”

Since launching in 2012, Room to Read has assisted in helping over two million children through its literacy programme. In the last 12 months, Room to Read has utilised its digital platform, Literacy Cloud, to broadcast lessons through radio and televisions for those that have been impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

Steven Biester, Global Head of Marketing at IMC, also commented: “At IMC we are passionate about nurturing and developing talent and that’s because we recognise that people are at the heart of our success. We’re committed to the next generation and that is why we fully support Room to Read’s ambitions. Success should not be limited to those who are fortunate enough to be born and raised in high-income countries.”

Esports Insider says: Team Liquid getting involved in IMC’s charity event is another continuation of its existing partnership with the firm. With the organisation’s involvement, its supporters will be able to donate to an extremely worthy cause.
