Fortnite: FNCS Season 7 Day 1 Recap & Results

Fortnite: FNCS Season 7 Day 1 Recap & Results

ESTNN recaps the storylines from day one of FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 7.

Day one is a wrap in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS). Season 7’s alien theme seems fitting, given the otherworldly storylines at play. All seven competitive Fortnite regions had their share of drama, conflicts and unfathomable occurrences. For most, day one signified the halfway point. That would be accurate for all except for the European region.

It was an insane first day, particularly for Fortnite’s three most significant regions—Europe, NA East and NA West. Some teams can win their first Axe of Champions, while others need to bounce back in the second half. With all that said, let’s see how the action played out in those three regions and look at some developing stories.

Europe

Accidental Bans

— 100T MrSavage (@MrSavage) September 4, 2021

Europe started just fine, but things got out of hand in game four. Two players—MrSavage and Trippernn—received “accidental in-game bans” per Epic’s response to the situation. The confusing circumstances forced the tournament runners to nullify results from games four and five in favor of fairness. That decision, unfortunately, erased a Victory Royale for Saevid, Raifla and AstroSMZ. The EU region will replay games four and five at the end of tomorrow’s session.

Kiryache & Crew Out in Front

First day 1, 8 more games tomorrow 🤞 pic.twitter.com/a1Sc1wNqgQ

— Gambit Toose (@TooseFN) September 4, 2021

After the dust settled from the bizarre turn of events, Kiryache, Stormyrite and Toose stood in front of the field. Game four saw this trio finish 12th with five eliminations, putting them in front by two points. There’s a lot of Fortnite left, and it’ll take a consistent effort for Kiryache, Stormyrite and Toose to maintain this lead. They finished with more eliminations than any other team on day one.

The Height Kings in Contention

8 games tmrow 😬

— WAVE Vadeal (@VadealFN) September 4, 2021

Fortnite World Cup Champion aqua returned to the FNCS Finals in a significant way today. He won the first game alongside teammates Vadeal and noahreyli after a textbook late height retake. The commotion behind MrSavage’s situation put a hold on the competition, but aqua’s team rounded out the day with back-to-back fifth-place results. Anything can happen with eight games left to play. We’ll have to see if the height kings can run down first place.

Here is how the top-15 looks after four matches:

1st: kiryachelfg, EvozA Stormyrite, Gambit Toose – 119 points
2nd: WAVE VADEAL, BL noahreyli, аqua – 117 points

NA East

Commanding Lead for Dukez & Company

1st day 1 jobs not over my trio is actually the best pic.twitter.com/NCGNAZYwCg

— Duke (@dukezfn) September 5, 2021

Dukez, Userz and Justice certainly aren’t a team many picked heading into the weekend. That didn’t stop these three from putting together one of the most impressive first days in FNCS history. Nothing could stop or slow Dukez, Userz and Justice down. They managed an average placement of 5th across their first six matches, with 47 eliminations and one Victory Royale overall. Momentum is on their side, but they’ll need a solid finish to ward off a charging favorite.

The Kings of Second Sit in Second

— NRG Edgey (@Edgeyy) September 5, 2021

Commandment, Cented and Edgey had a rough start to the day despite being the odds on favorites. A 21st and 16th in two of their first three games left viewers speechless, wondering what’s happening. The narrative changed rather quickly, as Commandment, Cented and Edgey rattled off a Victory Royale and two second-place finishes to close out the day. It was an admirable comeback that could be the boost they need to dethrone Dukez, Userz and Justice. It’ll be an exciting finish without a doubt.

TabzG, noob teyo and Plege Shine on Day One

A team not many picked to win proved the doubters wrong on day one of the NA East Finals. TabzG, noob teyo and Plege executed a consistent game plan that would likely have them in first if not for the two trios ahead. With a Victory Royale in their pocket, TabzG’s team earned 33 eliminations en route to 175 points on the day. They’ll hope to keep the consistency going on for Cented and Dukez to slide down the leaderboard.

Here is how NA East’s top-15 looks after six:

2nd: TSM FTX Comadon, FaZe Cented, NRG Edgey – 177 points
