01 Sep What Was The Thinking Behind This Act’s Valorant Battle Pass?
Valorant’s battle pass for Episode 3 Act 2 is looking very unique.
Valorant releases a new battlepass withevery new Act. And every one of them has a distinct feature separating it from previous Acts.
This Act’s battle pass features Vandal, Phantom and Operator cosmetics. Which just happen to be some of the most popular weapons in the game.
Other than that, the battle pass also features new player cards and sprays which are inspired by the Valorant community.
“The Versus // Phoenix + Phoenix card is a really satisfying card to add,” said Preeti Khanolkar, Senior Producer for Valorant. Speaking about the new player cards, Khanolkar explained it’s tie back to the cinematic released a few months ago. She also pointed out it was “something we’ve hinted at in a previous battle pass,” referencing the Broken Mirrors card. “There’s a few sprays and cards inspired by community jokes or memes,” she added, “but I’ll let the community guess which ones those are.”
Players might remember that in the past few passes, Valorant often added Map Schema and Weapon Manufacturer Schema play cards. These served as fun additional collectables for players with the battle pass. While their run is finished now, that doesn’t mean the cards series are stopping. Instead, the developers are coming up with a new concept; Unstoppable, aimed to showcase Valorant agents reaching their most powerful state in the game.
New Unstoppable Series Coming To Valorant
“The newest addition we’re excited about are the Unstoppable card series,” said Khanolkar. According to her, the first of these features Reyna in her ult form, draining the souls of enemies she’s killed. “These cards should portray our agents in their most powerful state, their power fantasy,” Khanolkar added.
The Unstoppable series provides players with new incentives to purchase the battlepass, and collect the prime player cards of agents they love and play.
