16 Aug Fortnite: FNCS Season 7 Week 2 Recap & Results
ESTNN recaps all of the action from the second FNCS Qualifier of Chapter 2 – Season 7.
The Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) in Chapter 2 – Season 7 returned this weekend after a short hiatus for Ariana Grande’s Rift Tour event. Competitive players across the game’s seven worldwide regions had to wait for their second chance to secure series points in their journey to the FNCS Semi-Finals. Those fortunate enough to finish top-three punches their ticket directly to the Season 7 Finals in early September.
A lot had changed since the first FNCS Qualifier two weeks ago. For one, Slurpy Swamp is a shell of its former self, and Epic presumably plans to change more of the map in this Tuesday’s patch. Additionally, the Inflate-A-Bull item has become critical for mobility and map movement. It’s all part of the adventure as the world’s best players look to do what is necessary to reach the final stage of FNCS Season 7.
Today, ESTNN recaps the results of this season’s third qualifier. We’ll learn which teams are moving straight to the finals and who is trending in the right direction.
Europe – A Fresh Team on Top

— LootBoy Xsterioz (@xsterioz) August 15, 2021
A triumvirate of European talents emerged in this region’s second of three FNCS Qualifiers. Despite squaring off against formidable opponents, TCE RedRush, LootBoyXsterioz and Mappi held the number one spot. The leaderboard could not have been closer, with all top-three teams finishing within five points of each other. However, the recipe for RedRush, Xsterioz and Mappi proved better than the others.
The week two winners took the lead with a game-five Victory Royale and compiled 34 eliminations en route to first-place. After winning Heat A last season, this trio is once again atop the EU leaderboard.

— Kiryache32 (@KiryacheFN) August 15, 2021
Russian players Kiryache32 and Gambit Toose joined their Ukrainian teammate EvozA Stormyrite in securing a runner-up result. Their effort was admirable, but an unfortunate lack of a Victory Royales hurt them immensely.
Regardless, the European trio won’t complain, considering they will join a list of outstanding trios in the Season 7 Finals. Kiryache, Toose and Stormyrite finished with 157 points and 26 eliminations.

The battle for third came down to a shortlist of three teams, including a trio led by three-time FNCS Champ Falcon TaySon. Ultimately, BL Setty, GAMMA Kami and GXR teeq rounded out the top three and grabbed the final qualifying spot.
Consistency played in the favor and Kami’s team, which finished with an average placement of 8.5 and 154 points overall. All three top trios can breathe a sigh of relief and won’t have to play in the grueling FNCS Semi-Finals.

NA East – The Season 5 Winners Mount Insane Comeback
1ST PLACE WEEK 2 QUALED FOR GRANDS LETS GOOOO @AcornFN @Slackes_ pic.twitter.com/4MtnPV8J6H
— G2 Jahq (@G2Jahq) August 16, 2021
The NA East region unfolded with a return to form for the Chapter 2 – Season 5 Champions. G2 Jahq, LG Slackes and 1P Acorn mounted perhaps the most outstanding comeback of recent memory in week two. The three players were not within striking distance, heading into their fourth match out of six. Jahq, Slackes and Acorn displayed grit and determination as they completed back-to-back Victory Royales to vault themselves into first.
We’ve seen such performances out of the former champions before, but this was something else. The Slurpy Swamp residents earned 166 points over six matches and will move straight to the Season 7 Finals.
Securing the first NAE Victory Royale of the night, @kwahfn @paper_fn, and @neeqoiwnl take Game 1!

Kwah, Elite Neeqo and Paper have been on the precipice of a breakthrough since Season 7 began and finally reached their potential. The three players performed well all day, earning 161 points, 24 eliminations and a Victory Royale to start the day. Although Jahq’s team usurped Kwah and company for first, it was a well-deserved second-place result.
Game 3 Victory Royale claimed by @Safarooniee @Stretch @Khanada!

It was only a matter of time until Saf, BBG Khanada and Liquid STRETCH finished top-three in this season’s qualifiers. That storyline played out in week two on the heels of an early exit last week. The numbers aren’t what you’d expect out of this trio. Despite finishing third with the tie-breaker, Saf, Khanada and STRETCH earned 148 points and 17 eliminations. If this performance is their floor, there’s no telling what they are capable of at their best.

It should come as no surprise that the three-time FNCS Champs 100T Arkhram, 100T rehx and NRG EpikWhale are unstoppable once again. Yes, they did win last season and secured a guaranteed seat in the Season 7 Finals. However, for the first time, the Axe of Champions holders “disbanded” their team and re-enrolled into the competition.
What transpired was a 211-point performance across six matches. Arkhram, rehx and EpikWhale did what they do best, compiling 46 eliminations and one Victory Royale in the second FNCS Season 7 Qualifier. The NA West region belongs to Arkhram, rehx and EpikWhale, which won’t change anytime soon.
