16 Aug ESL Mobile to present League of Legends: Wild Rift SEA Championship
Mobile esports tournament organiser ESL Mobile has announced it has joined forces with video game publisher and developer Riot Games to present the League of Legends: Wild Rift SEA Championships.
The tournament will feature as part of the Fall season of the SEA ICON Series — Riot Games’ official tournament series for the South East Asia region.

The tournament will see 20 teams from across South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand compete for a share of $200,000 (~£144,265) in prize money across three stages. The Play-In stage of the tournament is scheduled to begin on September 14th.
Nick Vanzetti, Senior Vice President of ESL Asia-Pacific and Japan, spoke on presenting the tournament: “We are extremely excited to present the Wild Rift SEA Championships 2021 together with Riot Games as part of ESL Mobile’s launch in APAC.
“ESL is honoured to be able to provide the best Wild Rift teams the opportunity to shine on the regional stage. This tournament is another great chance to see players prove their skills and compete for honours as the best in SEA.”

Following the Play-In stage, the Group stage will commence from September 23rd-26th with the qualifying teams booking their place in the Main Event of the tournament beginning on September 30th. The SEA Championship will be broadcast on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook in eight languages.
