14 Aug Fortnite Legend Saf Joins “Fear Nova” Esports Org
FNCS Season 2 Champion Saf lands with Fear Nova.
Fortnite legend and multiple-time tournament champion Rocco “Saf” Morales has signed with Fear Nova, a newly established esports organization. Despite being a relatively new team on the scene, Fear Nova’s first move is significant. Saf—a veteran in competitive Fortnite—has been one of the most consistent players since 2018.
Saf explored free agency twice over the last few months—once after TSM dropped its competitive roster, and again when TrainH Esport folded under financial constraints. Saf again became perhaps the most decorated free agent on the market. Two months later, the 19-year-old professional player found a new organization in Fear Nova to call home.
Saf Joins Fear Nova
The org itself is a bit of a mystery this early in the going. However, Saf is a noteworthy pick-up for the brand. He’s spent the last three years atop competitive Fortnite in multiple seasons. Saf and his former duo partner and fellow legend Williams “Zayt” Aubin enjoyed success through the early days until Zayt’s retirement earlier this year. The timeless duo’s outstanding track record includes a win at ESL Katowice Royale in 2019, FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 2 and fourth at the inaugural Fortnite World Cup.
Those results just scratch the surface, and Saf has continued compiling top placements despite his partner’s retirement from Fortnite. Saf finished third in FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 6 with NA East players Liquid STRETCH and C9 Avery. While not a content creator first and foremost, Saf’s career accolades are amongst the best in Fortnite’s four-year history and worthy of representation.

In addition to signing Saf, Fear Nova agreed to terms with several others, including Fortnite veteran 4DRStorm. Again, the organization remains a mystery to some extent. Fear Nova currently has around 4K Twitter followers and nearly 50K subscribers on YouTube. We’ll have to wait and see what materializes as Fear Nova looks to establish itself in the Fortnite scene. Saf is undoubtedly a worthy inclusion.
We’ll have to see how the next few months pan out for Saf and Fear Nova. Some new organizations have fizzled out of late, while others flourish. Chapter 2 – Season 7 will be a significant test for both parties.
