Contestants can submit their work from July 22 to October 21. Each of the 10 winning artworks will receive a whopping $100,000. The entry is open to any user having a non-limited Steam account, excluding employees of Valve and their immediate families. According to the rules, individuals can submit more than one piece of artwork to the CS:GO Workshop. Entries made for the contest should have the “Dreams & Nightmares Contest” tag.
To help the participants, Valve has made a separate website for the contest, containing useful information and resources. The company has also created a sub-forum in CS:GO’s Discussions section for artists, technical artists and other people to collaborate. Since entries in the contest can be both individual or a team-work.
The developers created the CS:GO Workshop about 10 years ago to get community contributions to the game. The plan has been an immense success, with artists submitting over 20 million pieces of work. This just goes to show how creative people are in the world of gaming. Some of the workshop entries are prominent skins, maps and other items in the game that have a great reputation among CS:GO players.
