Fortnite: $100K Bugha’s Late Game Tournament — Format, Scoring System, Prize Pool & More

Get ready for Bugha’s Late Game tournament!

Fortnite’s inaugural Solo World Champion Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf made history earlier today as the first purely competitive player to join the game’s ICON Series. This exclusive collection of skins features everything from American DJ Marshmello to Fortnite legend Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and some viral dances for good measure. On top of joining the ICON Series, Bugha has revealed a new competitive game mode, dubbed Bugha’s Late Game. The new Arena Mode addition simulates Fortnite end games, with a trios format, and set building materials and inventories.

To celebrate Bugha’s Late Game, Epic Games is hosting a $100K USD tournament, open to all regions. Today, ESTNN walks you through the format, scheduling, scoring system and prize pool for the upcoming tournament.

Champion of the 2019 Fortnite Solos World Cup, Content Creator and now Icon, @Bugha is joining the Icon Series!

Format & Schedule

As previously mentioned, Bugha’s Late Game Tournament does not follow the usual competitive Fortnite format. Trios will drop directly into the third zone of a match with set building materials and inventories. The ultimate goal is to earn placement points and eliminations to boost your team’s score. While the game mode is not live in Fortnite yet, it will become available on July 20. Anyone looking to qualify for the tournament must reach Champion League in Bugha’s Late Game playlist before the competition begins on July 28.

Here is the complete round-by-round format breakdown:

Round One

Two-hour session
A maximum of ten matches
Top 900 trios in NA East and Europe advance to round two
Top 600 trios in NA West and Brazil advance to round two
Top 300 trios in Oceania, Asia and Middle East advance to round two

Round Two

Two-hour session
A maximum of ten matches
The highest point-earners will collect a portion of $100K USD
