The Kyiv-based organization has hosted various CS:GO tournaments in the past including Lock and Load, Forge of Masters and Clutch Island. However, this will be their first major tournament in over two years.
WePlay has already started working to prepare for the tournament. They are working on stage setups, broadcast talent outfits, augmented reality assets, set extensions, broadcast graphics, and various other elements.
Oleh Humeniuk, Chief Executive Officer at WePlay Esports shared his thoughts on the matter:
“This is the greatest CS:GO event WePlay Esports has had the privilege of working on up to this day. I’m glad to report that our team is ready to take up a new challenge and reinvent how a premier-level esports tournament can look one more time.”
According to Sebastian Honciuc, Broadcast Producer at PGL, the popularity of Counter-Strike as an esport and its loyal fanbase deserve the best. WePlay, who has a great understanding of the region, will do exactly that. Honciuc explains that the organization has vast experience of successfully carrying out events and is consistent in doing so.
The PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is the first CS:GO tournament to have $2,000,000 as the tournament prize pool. The event will begin from October 23 to November 7.
