07 Jun Overwatch Heroes Tier List – June 2021
Our Overwatch hero tier list — from top to the bottom.
The latest hero patch is now live! The time has come to rank heroes based on their current position in the meta. Which hero is overpowered and could save a game? Which one should you avoid in its current state? Here is our Overwatch heroes meta for June 2021.
S-Tier Heroes
S-Tier heroes are the ones currently at the best of their shape. Some might be over-optimized, while others can just work better than others right now.
Zarya
Reinhardt
McCree
Reaper
Lucio
Zenyatta
The current meta brings Reinhardt and Zarya back to the foreground. If you are a tank player, you can’t be wrong picking either one of them. Reinhardt and Zarya always were one of the best tanking duos and are still kicking strong this season.
The Particle Cannon of Zarya suffered a slight nerf, but not enough to kick her out of the S-Tier. Her beam damage now scales from 75-170 DPS instead of 95-170, meaning she is less powerful when coming back from spawn, but still as deadly once charged.
McCree has been dominating the DPS heroes tier list for a few months now. His maximum health increased last year, making him a threat to consider for all opponents. The latest hero patch increased the reload time of his Peacekeeper from 1.2 to 1.5 seconds and reduced the distance of his Combat Roll by 20%. Despite these changes, McCree is still one of the most powerful heroes in Overwatch.
Reaper is a deadly hero to all tanks and a flanker able to scare most teams. He was already powerful but the recent patch note boosted him even more. It reversed Reaper’s self-healing to its state before his nerf, so the hero can now recover 35% of health while hitting enemies instead of 30%.
Lucio and Zenyatta work well in most team compositions. They both bring great value, whether from the Speed Boost of Lucio or Discord Orbs of Zenyatta.
A-Tier Heroes
A-Tier heroes are slightly less optimized than S-tier heroes, but can still fit in most group compositions.
Mei
Doomfist
Tracer
Junkrat
Echo
Ashe
Mercy
Moira
Baptiste
Ana
Wrecking Ball
Mei is a hero you want to have on your team and not as an opponent. She can stall an objective with her Ice Block, isolate a player from their team with her Ice Wall, as well as freeze anyone she comes across.
Doomfist is also a good pick for DPS players. He can crush low-health heroes, making him a deadly threat for support players. Junkrat and Ashe are also reliable DPS heroes who can easily destroy a shield and pick non-careful enemies.
Echo was among the S-Tier heroes due to her massive impact on the game with her ultimate. Seeing two Reinhardt charging at you was one of the most dreadful feelings in Overwatch, so the developers calmed Echo down a notch. As her ultimate now takes 15% longer to charge, Echo is among the A-Tier heroes: not bad, but not as overpowered as before.
Boosting Echo is Mercy, the ever-flying doctor of Overwatch. On her own, Mercy is not better than other support heroes. However, her added value comes with her boosting ability, making Echo an even scariest threat than she is on her own.
Baptiste falls a bit in our Overwatch heroes tier list following his recent nerf. In the latest hero update, the charge time of his Exo-Boots went from 0.7 to 1 second. Baptiste remains a good overall hero, with a high healing capacity and his all-mighty Immortality Field.
Moira is a versatile hero, often competing with DPS for damage done while staying a powerful healing hero. The latest patch note increases her ultimate cost by 17% but allows Moira to regenerate more resources while channeling Coalescence. Overall, Moira remains as powerful as she was, making her a safe pick for any support player.
Another powerful support hero is Ana. Her nanoboost is one of the best offensive ultimate in the game, while also giving health to its target. A well-placed grenade on enemies is a death warrant, as it helps her team get rid of all affected opponents.
Tracer and Wrecking Ball are heavily dependant on the player’s skill but can be impactful in their games. Both heroes are currently balanced and can annoy any enemy team – if not wiping them out entirely.
B-Tier Heroes
B-Tier heroes are not in their best shape, but can still work depending on your team composition.
Symmetra
Soldier: 76
Genji
Hanzo
Roadhog
Sigma
Winston
D.Va
Brigitte
Symmetra has always been a struggle to deal with, especially when it comes to attacking a point. Her turrets can force enemies to turn their back just enough to get a few hits from the rest of the team, while her teleportation pad can quickly allow her team to jump on a point or fall back to a safer spot.
Soldier: 76 is not a bad hero, but simply doesn’t compare to other hitscans – namely, McCree. His ultimate remains one of the best when it comes to killing a Pharah, but as the flying lady is not in her best shape right now, Soldier falls a bit in disgrace compared to other heroes.
The Shimada brothers, Hanzo and Genji, are reliable damage dealers. They might not be the best picks at the moment, but they can still work well in competitive games.
Roadhog is a tank that needs nobody else than himself. His self-healing capacity and large health pool make him hard to kill, while his hook can punish anyone coming in his line of sight.
Sigma also makes it to the B-Tier list. He is currently balanced but doesn’t have what it takes to be a better pick than Reinhardt in most situations. Moreover, his impact on games is limited to the ability of his team to pick the opponents he stuns or put high up in the sky.
D.Va and Winston are powerful heroes to dive on an enemy team. They can kill an opponent’s back lane, while also being able to peel for their supports. However, they do not work on all maps and with all teams since the Dive meta fell out of grace.
As Reinhardt is popular right now, Brigitte can fit well in this meta. When she stays behind Reinhardt’s shield, she can heal most of the team consistently. However, she falls a bit short with other tanking heroes.
C-Tier Heroes
C-Tier heroes are less powerful than heroes listed in the previous tiers. They usually work well in lower elos but fall a bit short when climbing the ranks, unless they are played by a really skilled player.
Pharah
Torbjorn
Orisa
Pharah used to be one of the most annoying heroes to counter, especially in lower ranks. However, since Echo came out, she no longer is the flying hero to shoot down. Echo is more powerful than Pharah, taking her place in our Overwatch heroes tier list.
Torbjorn is a fun hero, but not a really impactful one. His turret is useful in lower ranks, as opponents tend to forget it and get shot by the automatic fire. However, as you climb up the ladder, it gets easily destroyed by a coordinated team. His ultimate, Molten Core, can prevent the enemy team from getting past a choke, but this is the only scenario where Torbjorn is really efficient.
Orisa still struggles to find her place in the meta, besides being an extra shield for the double shield composition. She lacks mobility and overall damage output, preventing her from climbing in this tier list.
Meh-Tier Heroes
This tier should be the D-Tier, but really is a Meh-Tier. These heroes are… Meh. Pick them at your own risk and be ready for your team to call you a thrower.
Bastion
Sombra
Widowmaker
Bastion, Sombra, and Widowmaker are heavily dependant on your skill level. If you are an Overwatch League player, you can pick any of these and carry your team. If you are not, consider switching if you don’t manage to get an entry kill with Widowmaker, fail your EMP with Sombra, or don’t have enough cover to play Bastion.
And that concludes our Overwatch heroes tier list for June 2021! Is your favorite hero up in the rankings, or did they make it to the Meh-Tier? This tier list should be valid for a couple of months unless a new patch note comes earlier. Either way, make sure to check ESTNN for the latest Overwatch news!
