19 May Call of Duty Announces World Series Of Warzone Events
The biggest events in Warzone have arrived, with the World Series kicking off shortly
Today, Call of Duty has announced the World Series of Warzone, a series of $300K Warzone tournaments featuring the best players, Call of Duty League teams, and community-qualified teams.
The World Series of Warzone will feature trios and duos-based competitions for both North America and Europe, giving both regions an equal shot at some cash. The WSOW will be played in Custom lobbies, providing the best, high-action Warzone gameplay between the best players in the world.
Captains Cup
The WSOW also brings along the Captain’s Cup. This tournament brings together some of the biggest names in COD esports, allowing them to draft a team of trio squads. The draft is complete when there are five teams of 10 trios (or 30 total players per team). Each captain’s team will be scored based on the aggregate point total of its 10 trio squads. The performance of each of the five teams will determine their share of the Captain’s Cup prize pool.
Scoring
Scoring for each World Series of Warzone event is based on each participant’s total kills and placement in each match. Squads earn a WSOW Point for every kill and each squad’s placement determines additional WSOW Points for their squad and team that are applied after each map with a placement multiplier.
- 1st Place – 2X Multiplier
- 2nd – 15th Place – 1.5x Multiplier
- 16th – 50th place – 1x Multiplier
Event Schedule
The WSOW Trios NA tournament will be the inaugural competition. This will take place on June 23, with the captains drafting their players a day prior on June 22. The EU Trios event and both Duo event dates are yet to be confirmed.
