17 May Wildrift: Na`Vi Blanks Opponents To Win Battle For The Rift
Natus Vincere’s all-Chinese roster takes home the trophy.
There were many lopsided battles in the two-day Battle for the Rift tournament. With all but one of the matches ending in shutouts. Game-Lord was the only losing team to win a round; after losing to Tribe Gaming in the Semifinals. Tribe Gaming then went on to the Finals against Natus Vincere’s all-Chinese lineup. The best of five Finals match was settled after only three rounds. With Na`Vi emerging as the tournament champions.
Na`Vi takes home the $3,000 USD prize for first place after beating Vampi3 Esports in the Quarterfinals, Team Queso in the Semifinals. Then finally taking out Tribe Gaming.
Natus Vincere’s Chinese roster used to be known as Team Ghost and were champions in the Singularity Winter Cup 2021. It is composed of Zheng “Ghost” Julien and Hu “Garen” Sipeng who are both former Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players. There are also former Arena of Valor experts Mu “Mumu” Simone and Zeng “Juzi” Shiying. The last member of the roster, Xu “SkyFL” Guansheng, was a League of Legends prodigy who reached Master tier at just 15-years old.
Natus Vincere is more known for competing in PC games such as CS:GO, PUBG, Apex Legends and Dota 2. Their successful first foray into mobile esports may signal more adventures in mobile esports for the Ukrainian organization.
