10 May Dire Wolves renews Aglet partnership, launches new in-game sneaker range
Australian esports organisation Dire Wolves has renewed its partnership with ‘metaverse-commerce’ mobile game Aglet.
As a result of the agreement, Dire Wolves and Aglet will create custom player-designed sneakers in the game.

Aglet first made its move into esports with Dire Wolves earlier this year to created two limited edition customised sneakers for its Overwatch players. This new line has been designed by the organisation’s NBA 2K players, working directly with Aglet’s design team to create the sneaker.
The partnership, described as ‘bridging the gap between the physical and virtual fashion worlds’, also includes the custom placement of ‘Aglet Treasure Stash Stations’ at specific locations near Dire Wolves’ office and studios.
Jason Spiller, Owner of Dire Wolves commented: “I am really excited that we were able to extend our partnership with Aglet and create a new sneaker line designed by our very own NBA 2K players.
“Aglet is a perfect example of the bridge between competitive gaming and lifestyle, and it’s great to forge a partnership that provides our digital-first community with something unique and engaging.”

The collaboration, which has already kicked off, also includes a Dire Wolves branded basketball and jersey combo drop in the Aglet shop. This was followed by an ‘on-court and off-court’ sneaker drop in Aglet Treasure Stashes across the globe.
Further in-shop and metaverse drops will continue for the next three weeks. Aglet players that collect all seven digital sneakers will be rewarded with an exclusive in-game gold Dire Wolves slide and sock combo.
Ryan David Mullins, Co-Founder and CEO of Aglet added: “We live in the gaming age. The metaverse includes not only virtual worlds but extends to gamified real-world experience where players’ in-game hustle has real-world consequences!
“The partnership with Dire Wolves is special because it enables our teams to harmonise the virtual and physical worlds into a new type of experience – one that encourages physical and creative activity.”
Esports Insider says: The continued partnership between the metaverse sneaker game and Dire Wolves can only show the success of the deal. It’s no surprise to see the partnership be extended to feature the organisation’s NBA 2K team, particularly given basketball’s well-established relationship with sneakers.
