10 May CDL 2021 Power Rankings After Stage 3 Week 3
Here are our updated Power Rankings going into the Stage 3 Major.
Week 3 of Stage 3 brought us even more exceptional matches. With the Stage 3 Major just around the corner, here are our updated Power Rankings.
12. Paris Legion (-)
Paris Legion stay at the bottom of our Power Rankings after another 3-0 defeat. While it was to the hands of Toronto Ultra, this was still a poor performance during Stage 3 for the Legion, and they’ll need to improve massively to rise up our Power Rankings.
11. Seattle Surge (-2)
After the addition of Decemate, Seattle Surge was hoping for a honeymoon period to get them at least one win. However, both Atlanta FaZe and London Royal Ravens defeated them 3-1, and looked dominant in doing so. London were especially dominant in Hardpoint, winning 500-187 over the two maps. Seattle will need to improve their slaying in all respawns, and with their poor Control record, this needs to improve quickly.
10. Los Angeles Guerrillas (-1)
The Los Angeles Guerrillas have without a doubt improved since the addition of Cheen. However, they’ve failed to win many series, and their Search and Destroy is a major part of their matches. With their respawns struggling, teams just need to win all respawns to take the series, so the Guerrillas need to improve here.
9. London Royal Ravens (+1)
The London Royal Ravens seem to be improving every single series, and their Hardpoint especially has looked great. After a combined 500-187 Hardpoint win over Seattle Surge in the series, they look great heading into the Major, and could make a losers bracket run.
8. OpTic Chicago (-4)
OpTic Chicago sees themselves all the way down in eighth following two losses in Week 3. The team looks lost, and while there were some server issues in their match against FaZe, we don’t think a replay would’ve had any different outcome. We don’t expect them to make a roster change, but the team needs to improve their teamwork, strategy and vetos. This may require more analysts to join the team, but something needs to change soon.
7. Florida Mutineers (+1)
The Florida Mutineers come off back-to-back wins in Week 3, and start in the Winners Bracket for the first time this season. Everything seems to be clicking for them, and while the games are close, they’re pulling off wins. If they can brush up on their Search and Destroy, they could be contenders for a solid run at the Major.
6. Minnesota ROKKR (+1)
Sixth place seems to be the right spot for Minnesota ROKKR right now. They’ve had close matches with the bottom 6 teams, but struggle to defeat the top dogs. Their recent match against Dallas Empire saw them play out of sorts, and starting in the Losers Bracket, they’ll need to come out hot.
5. Dallas Empire (-)
Following a 3-0 defeat to the Mutineers, Dallas Empire replied with a 3-1 win over Minnesota ROKKR. This was a great bounce-back series for the Empire, and saw iLLeY specifically turn up with the SMG, and have one of his best series this year. Going into the Major, Dallas will need to make a statement, and this is the perfect chance to do so.
4. LA Thieves (-1)
While they suffered a 3-1 defeat to New York Subliners, and did not look great in their first series with Huke. The Thieves need time to gel as a team. They take on a rejuvenated Florida Mutineers roster in their first match at the Major, and this is a must-win match for them.
3. New York Subliners (+3)
With the first seed and an undefeated Hardpoint record, the New York Subliners move up to third. HyDra has been an excellent addition to this squad and has not only brought some exceptional gameplay himself. He’s made the team more comfortable, and the vibes are flowing. Subliners have a great chance at winning this Major.
2. Atlanta FaZe (-)
An incredible performance against OpTic saw Atlanta FaZe completely dominate, and look back to their Stage 1 form. Simp looked unstoppable, and if FaZe plays like this at the Major, they’ll be an extremely dangerous team.
1. Toronto Ultra (-)
Toronto Ultra keeps their spot at the top following an undefeated Stage 3, with a 15-1 Map record. Insight has continued to be the dominant force that he is, absolutely commanding their matches, and clutching up when needed. Ultra has a great chance at going back to back in this Major.
