Epic Games is honoring Fortnite “OG” and one of the most underrated players of all time with a tournament in his name.
The Reverse2k Cup is happening, and it’s been a long time coming for a player who often goes overlooked in the grand scheme of competitive Fortnite. Malachi “Reverse2k” Greiner qualified for the World Cup in 2019 and went on to win a Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) competition one year later. He now joins an exclusive list of fellow professional players and content creators such as Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish, Nick “NickEh30” Amyoony and Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson in receiving a Fortnite tournament in his name. Epic Games and Reverse2k settled on a squads format for his competition, meaning only teams of four are eligible to participate. It will occur on NA East servers but is not region-locked, so competitors from all other regions can enter. Teams will need to qualify through two preliminary rounds before competing in the final round, where $10K USD is up for grabs. Here is the round-by-round format breakdown:
Round 1 (May 13 from 5 PM to 8 PM EST)
- Three-hour session
- A maximum of ten matches
- The Top 250 teams advance to the second round
Round 2 (May 13 from 9 PM to 12 AM EST)
- Three-hour session
- A maximum of ten matches
- The top 24 teams advance to the third round
Round 3 (May 14 from 5 PM to 8 PM EST)
- Three-hour session
- Likely to be six custom matches
- Prizes payout to the top five

Reverse2k Cup Scoring System
Placement is key in the Reverse2k Cup, considering each game-winning team earns a total of 30 points. Focusing on high finishes and eliminating players when necessary is a strategy that could work well. Each elimination is worth one point. Here is the complete scoring breakdown:
- Victory Royale: 30 Points
- 2nd: 24 Points
- 3rd: 21 Points
- 4th: 19 Points
- 5th: 17 Points
- 6th: 15 Points

Reverse2k Cup Prize Pool
There is a $10K USD prize pool on the line for tournament players who reach the third round. All prizes will distribute evenly to the four members of each team. It’s a top-heavy structure with only the top-five receiving a payout. Here is the complete prize pool breakdown:
- 1st: $4,200
- 2nd: $2,500
- 3rd: $1,500
- 4th: $1,000
- 5th: $800
