FIGHT Esports will kick off its Malaysian regional league, which features a prize pool of RM16,000 (~£2811), with PUBG Mobile. Qualifiers are set to begin on May 5th with the finals commencing on June 15th.

As a result of the announcement, the esports organisation has also expanded its partnership with TikTok. After previously striking a deal with the platform’s Southeast Asian branch, FIGHT has now announced an agreement with TikTok Malaysia to become a partner of FIGHT Campus League Malaysia.

Ariff Abu, Team Lead at FIGHT Esports Malaysia, commented: “We’ve been looking into regional, multi-title tournaments for some time after organising community level tournaments in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines for the past year and getting feedback from students asking for a dedicated tournament of their own.

“The FIGHT Campus League will pave a way for students to compete in selected top titles and demonstrate many different skill levels across several demographics.”

FIGHT Campus League Malaysia will be live streamed via FIGHT Esports’ TikTok and Facebook channels, as well as Astro’s eGG Network.

The esports organisation has also revealed that FIGHT Campus League Philippines’ inaugural event will be a Call of Duty: Mobile tournament. The competition is set to begin on May 7th, with a prize pool of RM16,172 (~£2840).

Meanwhile, FIGHT Campus League Indonesia will commence its RM14,158 (~£2487) Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event in June.

Cheah Sheau Mei, User and Content Operations Manager for TikTok Malaysia, added: TikTok’s short-form format and unique content makes it the perfect platform for gamers to showcase their unique stories, connect with other gamers, and celebrate modern gaming culture — all whilst having fun.

“As the gaming community continues to grow on TikTok, we look forward to collaborating closely with like-minded organisations like FIGHT Esports to fuel the passions and originality of more gamers on our platform.”

Esports Insider says: It’s always great to see further esports development within college and universities. The titles that have been revealed for the regional leagues should drive a lot of interest and FIGHT’s partnership with TikTok will likely boost engagement opportunities. It’ll be interesting to see how many students participate in the leagues and what other tournaments FIGHT Campus League has planned.
