Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was the game of choice for the first Pinnacle Cup. However, this time Pinnacle and Relog Media have chosen Dota 2. The event will include the best 12 teams from EU/CIS region. It also boasts $100,000 as the total prize pool.
They planned the event to start from May 5, 2021. It will comprise 10 teams battling in round-robin format, while two teams will get a direct entry to playoffs. The finals of the tournament will take place on May 30.
Pinnacle’s CEO Paris Smith spoke about the event, “After a fantastic start to the Pinnacle Cup, we are delighted to carry on this series with RELOG Media, expanding further into the esports ecosystem. The heart of what we do at Pinnacle is engaging with the esports community, and with the introduction of the Pinnacle Cup – Dota, we plan to further reinforce that connection with the wider esports audience.”
Relog Media will help in offering a comprehensive selection of both pre-game and live betting markets, with low margin odds. Both companies will work using the Twitch broadcast platform, showing graphical illustrations of important statistics and data which can help in understanding the game and betting.
Milutin Pecic, Relog Media CEO said, “As passionate Dota 2 players at Relog Media, it’s an absolute pleasure to dive into the Dota 2 community with Pinnacle alongside us. We hope this is just the start of our offerings to the competitive teams across the globe. Pinnacle’s track record and success in Esports so far made it an easy decision for us to go forwards. We also had a ton of fun in the CSGO edition of The Pinnacle Cup. A proud day for us all here at Relog Media.”
With the first tournament success, the Pinnacle Cup will run alongside the Dota Pro Circuit. While some teams might find it difficult to adjust, the finals of the cup will come after DPC, which is a big relief for participating teams.
