In addition, the energy drink brand’s support is also expected to help Wave when the organisation expands into other titles. Since its creation in 2019, Wave Esports has developed competitive rosters in Brawl Stars and Fortnite, alongside its VALORANT side.

Ivaelo Bozhilov, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Partnerships at Wave Esports, spoke on the deal in a release: “From the very beginning, it was a goal of ours to work with Red Bull. Achieving this just before our company turns 1 year old is a great accomplishment for us and we are very happy that Red Bull believes in us. Looking back at what we managed to achieve throughout 2020 in the competitive scene and having this translate into commercial success in 2021 goes to show that we are definitely on the right path.”

“We believe in excellence and competitive drive and knowing that they want to help us further develop and achieve our goals makes us extremely happy. We are ready to prove what we can do with Red Bull and establish a long-lasting partnership and we are looking forward to closing more partnerships throughout this year!”

Red Bull becomes the second partner of Wave Esports, joining peripherals manufacturer Logitech. Moreover, the partnership sees Red Bull add yet another esports organisation to its portfolio, which includes the likes FURIA and T1, among others.

Esports Insider says: Wave Esports is slowly building a strong roster of partners and joining forces with Red Bull is certainly a statement of intent. If the organisation can continue to attract big names, we could be hearing a lot more about the organisation as we head through 2021.
