22 Apr OWL 2021 Power Rankings – #2 Seoul Dynasty
The Overwatch League 2021 season power rankings are reaching the end, and closing out spot #2 is none other than the Seoul Dynasty.
The Seoul Dynasty has had some incredibly inconsistent seasons in the past. The Inaugural 2018 season paid them no favor despite being slated as the #1 team in the pre-season. 2019 and 2020 were even rougher years for the Dynasty, unable to find their footing and pacing against some of the expansion teams in their region. When the conferences changed going into 2020, the Seoul Dynasty suffered, unable to stomp mid to low-tier teams in North America to improve their standing.
Tank:
- Minseo “Marve1” Hwang
- Jae-hee “Gesture” Hong
- Hyeon-woo “Toyou” Lim
The tank line for the Seoul Dynasty is impressive, more so than most other teams in the league currently. Marve1 may not be as big of a name as Gesture or Fissure, but his growth in the Seoul Dynasty has been incredible to watch. The fairly unknown Korean tank player was picking up in 2018 just as the Dynasty were making shifts to the core of their roster. At first, he struggled to make an impact on the team, but over the years his place on this roster has become clear. Gesture is undeniable in his skill as an off-tank, and when looking at the DPS lineup, he fits right into the aggressive yet calculated playstyle. Joining the Seoul Dynasty once again as a backup is Toyou who has played with the team before and also competed for Gen.G in Contenders.
Support:
- Young-wan “Creative” Kim
- Taesung “Anamo” Jung
The Support lineup for the Seoul Dynasty has been lackluster since the release of Jehong “Ryujehong” Jehong in 2019. Ever since then the Seoul Dynasty has been swapping support players in and out hoping that one sticks in the same way their all-star did. This chase of the perfect support has left the Seoul Dynasty in a lackluster position only holding on to Creative in the postseason and picking up the New York Excelsior’s Anamo.

DPS:
- Dong-eon “FITS” Kim
- Joon-yeong “Profit” Park
- Jong-ryeol “Saebyeolbe” Park
Ever since its foundation, the Seoul Dynasty has always boasted some of Korea’s biggest names in competitive Overwatch. Their former rosters hosted players like Jehong “ryujehong” Ryu, Chan-hyung “Fissure” Baek, and Byung-sun “Fleta” Kim. This season is no different as former New York Excelsior DPS Saebyeolbe joins the tigers in their fourth season. Alongside him are Fits and Profit, two players that have preexisting synergy on the Seoul Dynasty and put on a deadly display of skill whenever given the chance.
