LCS teams up with Mobalytics to bolster amateur esports ecosystem

The League Championship Series (LCS) has partnered with California-based esports analytics startup Mobalytics to bolster LCS’ new amateur esports ecosystem.

As a result of the partnership, Mobalytics has launched an updated version of its esports analytics website, which is designed to help team scouts and esports fans follow amateur action by providing statistics, rankings, VODs and other resources.

According to the release, the partnership will look to support North American esports organisations’ high demand for local League of Legends talent. Moreover, the collaboration is expected to create new ways for LCS teams, tournament organisers and sponsors to support the growth of amateur competitions in the region.

Matt Nausha, Head of Amateur and Scholastic, LCS North America, commented on the announcement in a release: “I’m excited about the LCS’s commitment to the amateur scene. Working with so many passionate players, staff, teams, and organisations have been invigorating. As we move forward, we’ll continue to assess how we can better our processes and further the league’s development.”

The introduction of this new esports ecosystem for aspiring players is the result of a multi-year data partnership agreed between LCS and Mobalytics.

Bogdan Sychyk, CEO and Co-Founder at Mobalytics, added: “We’re happy to partner with the LCS and bring esports to the next level. With how much progress has made in just a decade, I wouldn’t be surprised if, in another few years, the path to pro may begin at high school or perhaps earlier, with teams beginning to scout at a much younger age as they do in traditional sports such as NBA.”

Esports Insider says: The LCS’s partnership and project with Mobalytics demonstrates the league’s commitment to developing the North American amateur scene. This is an important step in creating a stable pipeline of fresh League of Legends talent in the region.
