22 Apr Fortnite: DreamHack Cash Cup Extra 2 — Recap & Results
ESTNN recaps the final trio competition before the Fortnite Champion Series.
DreamHack’s return to Fortnite in 2021 began last week, with the organization’s first attempt at a trios event. It went well, considering two of the world’s best teams continued to show just why all others should fear them. Trios led by defending NA East FNCS Champion Jahq and Europe’s two-time Axe of Champion holder TaySon overcame the best opponents in their respective regions to receive the first-ever DreamHack Cash Cup Extra crown.
Week two of the Cash Cup Extra provided another opportunity for teams to get in some much-needed practice and gather some fast cash ahead of this season’s Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS). Could some top teams turn heads in the last significant tournament before their respective Axe of Champions journey? Let’s take a look at the results.

The day started with the European region, which many recognize as the best in all of competitive Fortnite. As the final Victory Royale screen appeared, Heretics k1nzell, apeks IDrop 7 and wakie stood as the Cash Cup Extra Champions. It wasn’t easy; these three players began with a game one win and game two runner-up. Other trios crept back in, but this relatively new team shut the door and ended all hopes with a final match Victory Royale.
K1nzell, IDrop and wakie earned 691 points across eight matches with two wins and 61 eliminations. Their performance undoubtedly elevates them in the proverbial power rankings heading into the first FNCS Qualifier. Another new trio – Solary Floki, Homyno Clément and GO Decyptos – secured a second-place finish with 628 points. It was a nice bounce back from last week and a definite confidence booster going into the weekend.
Top trio and last season’s fifth-place finishers NRG benjyfishy, TrainH Matsoe and TrainH Umplify rounded out the top three with 602 points. Some solid European teams are trending upward at the correct time.

After several weeks of dominance out of reigning FNCS Champions 1% Acorn, LG Slackes and G2 Jahq, it was hard not to imagine a back-to-back DreamHack victory out of them. However, another top NA East trio showed heart and determination until the very end. After a slow start, eventual winners BBG Bucke, BBG Khanada and G2 MackWood rallied late with two wins, a second and a third, to finish on top.
The BBG and G2 mixture compiled 76 eliminations despite not necessarily needing momentum ahead of the FNCS since they have already locked up their Grand Finals spot. Their confidence is undoubtedly at an all-time high knowing that they do not have to worry about qualifying.
Fortnite’s Chapter 2 – Season 4 Champs Reverse2k, Mero and Deyy, all of the ENDLESS organization, put together another stellar performance. They improved from a seventh-place finish last week to a second and are in excellent form. Season 6 could be theirs if they remain this consistent. The week two Cash Cup winners of SEN Aspect, Cazz and OA Whofishy followed that triumph with a third-place result. Here is the complete NA East top ten:
- 1st: BBG Bucke, BBG Khanada, G2 MackWood – $2,100
- 2nd: ENDLESS Deyy, ENDLESS Mero, ENDLESS Reverse2k – $1,800
- 3rd: SEN Aspect, Cazz, OA Whofishy – $1,500
- 4th: bbg kre, FS Bully iwnl, BBG HEAD CLICKER – $1,200
- 5th: Cоmmandment, FaZe Cented, NRG Edgey – $900
- 6th: 9LIVES VOIL, XPRT Xccept, Snakeccept – $750
- 7th: TrainH saffy, Liquid STREMON, C9 Avery – $750
- 8th: LG Slackes, 1P Acornski, G2 Jаhq – $750
- 9th: XSET Ceice, Liquid Scopеd, ENDLESS TRAGIX – $750
