21 Apr CoD: Slide Cancelling Severely Nerfed In Black Ops Cold War’s Season 3 Update
A crucial movement feature has been removed in the recent update.
Slide canceling is a movement technique abused by almost every single player in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. While it first arrived in Black Ops 4, it became extremely popular in Modern Warfare and Warzone. Slide canceling is fairly simple. You end the animation before it finishes, allowing you to get a camera and speed advantage on your opponent.
This movement technique allows you to do everything at a much faster pace — and is used by every single professional player. However, the recent Season 3 update seems to have removed it completely.

In this clip, Minnesota ROKKR’s Attach shows how the slide cancel has been affected — and that it won’t be effective to use anymore. For most players, slide canceling has been ingrained in their gameplay for the past few years. So, it may be extremely difficult to adjust. With Stage 3 of the Call of Duty League kicking off tomorrow, Pro Players will need to adjust quickly ahead of their matches.
