12 Apr LoL Wild Rift Patch 2.2a Highlights
Patch 2.2a to be released throughout April and May.
In an announcement by Riot Games on Twitter, Wild Rift patch 2.2a will roll out changes over the next two months which will consist a new champion, Rammus The Armadillo, new skins, new accessories, new events, 120fps mode for high end devices, changes to some champions, item changes, game system changes and free-to-play champion rotation.
New Champion
Rammus, the Armordillo will be released on April 22 at 0:01 UTC.
New Skins
Stargazer Camille, Stargazer Soraka, Stargazer Twisted Fate, Molten Rammus and Sweeper Rammus skins will be released throughout the patch.
New Accessories
A number of new accessories such as Stargazer Endeavor (Icons), Stargazer Triumph (Icons), Stargazer Pengu (Emotes), To The Stars (Recalls), Cosmic Transcendence (Recalls) and Stargazer (Baubles) will be released throughout the patch.
New Event
Stargazer event introduces you to the world of the Stargazers: Camille, Twisted Fate and Soraka which will run till the end of April. Completing missions will give access to new accessories.
120FPS Mode
High-end devices like OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, Google Pixel 5, ASUS ROG Phone 2, and Razer Phone 2 will soon have the option to switch to 120fps mode. Though, to note, it is still in testing, so it may not be perfect right off the bat.
Changes to Champions
There are a number of balance changes to champions this patch. Alistar, Corki, Dr. Mundo, Galio, Shyvana and Vi will receive nerfs. On the other hand, Blitzcrank, Diana, Leona, Pantheon and Tristana are being buffed to help them find their place in the meta.
Item Changes
In addition, a couple of items are being adjusted too. Infinity and Sunfire Aegis are too powerful, so are being nerfed. However, Glorious Enchant is getting a bug fix.
Game System Changes
To make the laning phase in competitive gameplay more stable, the outer turrets will be harder to destroy. They now have extra armor and magic resist in Baron and mid lane for the first few minutes of the match.
Free-To-Play Champion Rotation
Champions such as Varus, Singed, Lulu, Kai’Sa, Jax, Graves, Galio, Fizz, Evelynn and Braum will be available between April 15 and 21.
After that, Ziggs, Zhao, Xin, Xayah, Soraka, Shyvana, Fiora, Dr. Mundo, Corki, Aurelion Sol and Alistar will be available on free champion rotation between April 22 and 28.
