Heroic won the league, enduring no series losses. They also finished the Finals in style, thanks to a brilliant 1v4 clutch by cadiaN. The play started with cadiaN knifing Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov on stairs after sneaking in on A-site of Mirage from jungle. This gave cadiaN a free AWP, which he then used to finish the rest of Gambit’s lineup.

An intense Grand Finals
Heroic’s win was a surprise for many. Even though they were unbeaten, Gambit was in dominant form going into the Finals and fans expected them to win the tournament. The first match on Inferno went badly for Gambit. Heroic made a comeback after being 12-4 down. Although Heroic played well, it certainly looked like complacency on Gambit’s part.
The second game on Vertigo was a quick one for Gambit, who sealed the deal with a 16-3 win. The final turned into a marathon in the third game on the Train map. Both teams played four overtime rounds, ultimately resulting in a scoreline of 28-26 in favor of Heroic.
The fourth game on Overpass was a win for Gambit with a scoreline of 16-10. However, the last and deciding game went completely wrong for the Danish kings. Heroic won the last game on Mirage comfortably with a score of 16-6.
Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov winning the MVP of ESL Pro League 13 was Gambit’s consolation prize. The 18-year-old showed great reliability and had a massive impact on his team’s performance throughout the league.
Heroic made their first enormous achievement of 2021, bagging $200,000 and 1,300 ESL Pro Tour points. This means Heroic has a reserved spot in the BLAST Premier Global Final, which will take place in December.
