LoL: Rogue Crowned 2021 LEC Spring Coaching Team Of The Split

With the Grand Finals weekend underway, the LEC has given out some end-of-split awards for Spring.

After another successful regular split, Rogue’s coaching team has been awarded the Coaching Team of 2021 LEC Spring award. The award is given for performance in the regular split, which saw Rogue come second in the table, equalling G2 Esports’ points total in first-place. G2 Esports and MAD Lions’ coaching staff were awarded second and third place, respectively.

It was a regular-season split to be proud of for Rogue. They ended the split with a 14-4 record, just behind G2 Esports. Even though they managed to equal G2 Esports, they fell into the second spot due to losing both games against then. Elsewhere, Rogue only lost matches against Excel and Schalke 04.

At the time of publishing, Rogue is about to play off against G2 Esports for a chance to face MAD Lions in the LEC Spring Split Grand Final. A loss would see Rogue end the split in third, arguably a disappointment given the regular season.

Playoffs got off to a poor start for Rogue, losing 3-1 against MAD Lions, who then went on to take down G2 Esports by the same scoreline, setting them up for a Grand Final appearance. Rogue would make up for the loss in the Lower Bracket, where they beat Schalke 04 3-1.

A just award for another good split

Rogue’s coaching staff deserve the credit they’ve been given. Rogue has quickly gone from an outsider in the LEC to being nailed on one of the top three sides. Spring Split will cement Rogue in this top-three, though the team will be looking to become the very best in Europe. While defeat in the Lower Bracket Final wouldn’t mean a failed season, the new-look top three in Europe is starting to take shape. Rogue will want to be at the head of that trifecta, especially as they look to challenge G2 Esports’ dominance on the LEC.
