07 Apr CoD: CDL 2021 Major 2 Preview
The second Major of the year is just ahead of us, here’s everything you need to know.
This week sees the second Major of the 2021 Call of Duty League season. The new 2021 format makes teams compete in three weeks of pool play matches, before going head to head in a $500K Major tournament.
The group play matches determine the seeding for the Major, so Group winners Atlanta FaZe and Minnesota Rokkr start in Winners Round 2.
Schedule
Wed, Apr 7
Los Angeles Thieves vs Paris Legion (3PM EST)
Florida Mutineers vs Los Angeles Guerrillas (4:30PM EST)
Thurs, Apr 8
Dallas Empire vs New York Subliners (3PM EST)
Toronto Ultra vs OpTic Chicago (4:30PM EST)
London Royal Ravens vs Paris Legion/LA Thieves (6PM EST)
Seattle Surge vs Florida Mutineers/LA Guerrillas (7:30PM EST)
Friday will then feature Winners Round 2 and Elimination Round 3, before Elimination Round 4 and 5 are played on Saturday, ahead of Winners Finals, Losers Finals and the Grand Finals on Sunday.
Our Winner
Currently 12-1 in the League and winners of Major 1, it’s hard to look past Atlanta FaZe as winners of Major 2. However, this rejuvenated OpTic Chicago look great, and with a few changes they could be a surprise winner.
However, if you’re looking for a real outsider, Los Angeles Guerrillas are currently the only team to beat FaZe this year, and they could be the dark horse team we’ve been waiting for and steal this Major.
