Fictional band PENTAKILL will be performing in the Mid-Season Showdown’s opening ceremony after a three-year absence.
League of Legends is known for its extravagant opening ceremonies in their World Championship Finals. But for the inaugural year of the Mid-Season Showdown, Riot Games has officially announced that virtual heavy metal band PENTAKILL will be performing live at the Los Angeles Greek Theater.

This performance also starts the beginning of a partnership with Jackson Guitars and the LCS, the first of its kind. This will be the first live performance and sporting event in The Greek Theater since the beginning of the global pandemic.
This will be the first time we see PENTAKILL in about three years. Thankfully, it seems this is not just a one-off performance. But instead, a sneak preview of their newest song to be released later this year. This is set to be a live performance featuring Norwegian Jørn Lande and will be a glimpse of what is to come in the world of PENTAKILL.
This leaves us some room for speculation of seeing some of the in-game skins either be reimagined. Or expanded to include a wider cast of champions.
Don’t miss the opening ceremony set for Sunday, April 11 at 1 PM PST. We’ll also see Playoff favorites Cloud9 face off against the winner of TSM vs Team Liquid.
