Famulei covers the esports, entertainment, and livestreaming sector through the operation of businesses in talent management, marketing, licensing, and e-commerce. Some of the company’s overseas partnerships include Team Liquid, T1, Gen.G and Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, among others.
Following the acquisition, VSPN plans to work alongside Famulei to focus on influencer monetisation, its livestream talents, and esports content.
In addition, VSPN has cited that the purchase continues towards the company’s goal of strengthening esports’ business model, generating market opportunities, and creating a sustainable esports ecosystem.

The purchase follows on from VSPN’s $60m (£43.89m) Series B+ funding round in January this year. The investment was expected to go towards ‘deepening the layout of esports IP trends and operations’, creating new esports products, and expanding the company’s overseas services, among others.
A week prior to the funding announcement, the esports solutions provider also acquired Chinese production company Banana Gaming & Media.
Over the last two years, VSPN has secured over $160m (£115.99m) in funding, with the likes of Tencent, Prospect Avenue Capital, and Tiantu Capital investing in the firm.
Esports Insider says: VSPN is building a strong portfolio of esports businesses as the company continues its expansion plans. Given the fact that its two most recent acquisitions have been China-based entities, it seems that the firm is sticking to regional purchases first, with the intention of developing them into wider-scale businesses. Only time will tell if this approach is successful.
