29 Mar CoD: CDL 2021 Power Rankings After Stage 2 Week 2
Here’s our updated Power Rankings for the 2021 CDL Season.
Stage 2 Week 2 of the CDL saw more rookies enter the scene. This majorly shook up the league, so here’s our updated Power Rankings after Stage 2 Week 2.
12. Paris Legion (-3)
After defeat to Dallas Empire and Seattle Surge, Paris Legion suffered in week 2. While most teams seemed to show some promise, Paris looked flat, especially in their game against the Surge. Fire hasn’t been performing recently, and the rookie will need to step it up soon.
11. Seattle Surge (+1)
Seattle Surge looked dominant in a 3-0 win over Paris Legion. However, they’re yet to prove they can close out matches against teams higher up the league. Therefore, they stay near the bottom in 11th.
10. Los Angeles Guerrillas (-3)
Following a loss to the London Royal Ravens last week, and to Toronto Ultra this week. The LA Guerrillas move down to 10th. While it was a close match against Toronto, they were dominated in game 5, suffering a 6-0 loss. The Guerrillas need to improve their respawns before it’s too late.
9. Toronto Ultra (-1)
Toronto Ultra defeated the LA Guerrillas, however they’re still yet to prove themselves against better opponents. Because of this, they sit behind a rejuvenated Royal Ravens in 8th.
8. London Royal Ravens (+3)
Victory over the LA Thieves showed that London mean business. PaulEhx has come into the squad and instantly improved it, while Zed has had a great impression on Dylan. This new Royal Ravens roster looks great, and they could have defeated the Subliners if it wasn’t for some chokes towards the end of matches.
7. LA Thieves (-2)
The Los Angeles Thieves look lost. Venom has come in to replace Temp in the starting lineup, however this is yet to result in any change in results. The Thieves have the talent, but it’s not coming together at the moment. We’re not sure what’s going on, but it needs to change soon.
6. Florida Mutineers (-)
Florida Mutineers have carried their momentum from Week 1 into Week 2, and thus remain in 6th place. Skyz has started to dominate, and while their win over OpTic Chicago may be more down to Chicago’s woes than their dominance, they still looked great. The Mutineers are finally becoming the dark horse team they can be.
5. OpTic Chicago (-2)
OpTic Chicago finished Week 2 with a 0-6 Map Count. Two 3-0 losses saw them absolutely dominated by both Rokkr and Mutineers, as they struggle following the XM4 GA. Their fundamentals and coordination seems to have disappeared and the squad looks dysfunctional. They need to fix this going into Week 3.
4. Minnesota Rokkr (+7)
At the start of the season we expected Minnesota to be at the top. While they reached the lows of 11th in our Power Rankings last week, the addition of Standy brings them right back up to 4th. Standy has not only excelled himself, but has allows Priestahh to move into a more comfortable role. This change sees Rokkr play at the level we initially expected, and will be looking for during the rest of the season.
3. New York Subliners (+1)
Back to Back 3-1 wins over the Guerrillas and Royal Ravens see New York move up to 3rd. Clayster has been dominant this year, and seemed to get better every single weekend. Along with Clayster, Asim is the aggressive Sub we all love to see, and his high engagements have brought the team valuable wins.
2. Dallas Empire (-)
While they have been involved in some close matches, and a defeat to Minnesota Rokkr. Dallas Empire holds on to 2nd place. They still look great, and Huke has continued to dominate. However, their SnD needs improvement ahead of Week 3.
1. Atlanta FaZe (-)
Currently 11-0, Atlanta FaZe don’t appear to be moving from the top spot anytime soon. All players have been dominating on FaZe, and really, we don’t see anyone beating them in this Stage.
