Fortnite Season 6: Everything We Know So Far

Fortnite Season 6: Everything We Know So Far

The hype is building ahead of Fortnite Battle Royale’s newest season.

Epic Games has quietly backed its way into Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 6, which remains shrouded in mystery except for a string of teasers. To recap the last two seasons, millions of Fortnite players worldwide worked alongside Marvel superheroes to defeat Galactus in Season 4, which ended that plotline. The Marvel villain paved the way for Season 5 by attempting to harness energy from The Zero Point, an object that has been around since Chapter 1. The Zero Point became Season 5’s focal point alongside Fortnite’s lead character John “Jonesy” Jones. Agent Jonesy opened portals to recruit hunters from different dimensions in hopes of containing The Zero Point.

Some hunters included Ryu, Chun-Li, Master Chief, Kratos, Terminator, Predator and many more in what became a historical season of Fortnite. The Zero Point grew increasingly unstable, especially in Patch v15.50. The rumor mill is in full force ahead of Season 6, which releases tomorrow. Let’s take a look at the various teasers thus far.

Teaser #1 – The Order

The first teaser features Jonesy in one of his audio logs, which became a mainstay in Season 5. Jonesy ponders the purpose of these recordings if no one is listening. He states that “we’ve lost control of the Zero Point.” Jonesy then references “The Order,” better known as the Imagined Order, the organization tasked with protecting the Zero Point. There are secret IO headquarters below each of Season 5’s new locations – Stealthy Stronghold, Hunter’s Haven and Colossal Coliseum. Jonesy talks briefly about the end of reality and how he’s not willing to let that happen.

Epic Games soon confirmed that a Fortnite x Neymar Jr collaboration would occur in Season 6. Some other takeaways included a shotgun from Save the World and the potential appearance of Dire Wolves.

Teaser #2 – Access Denied

Jonesy returned with another audio log in teaser two, where he requested access to restricted file 8752. After the system denies his access, Jonesy states, “Really. No time to stabilize reality, but plenty of time to revoke my credentials.” That specific file contained information about The Seven, a mysterious group that first appeared in Chapter 1 – Season 4. This collection of figures bears responsibility for causing “The End” event that transitioned Fortnite into Chapter 2. The Visitor, Scientist and Paradigm are the only three known members of The Seven as it stands.

Over one full year has passed since The Seven’s last appearance, and Jonesy’s reference could mean that the Chapter 2 map is spiraling toward disaster. That theory became more realistic after Epic Games dropped its latest teaser.

Teaser #3 – Jonesy Ready for Battle

The third teaser did not feature an audio log but instead a picture of Jonesy. His outfit features some evident connections to the character’s many journeys in Season 5. We can see Ryu’s headband and boxing glove, a headset from Alien, Predator’s gauntlet, Mandalorian’s shoulder plate and a Snake Eyes tattoo. What this means isn’t exactly straightforward. It could be a simple callback to all of Epic’s crossovers during the Zero Point era or something more significant.

What we do know is that the Zero Point will cause some disaster. Players will presumably take control of Jonesy in the Season 6 event, known as “The Zero Crisis.” It will last 3 minutes and 15 seconds, but more concrete details aren’t available yet. We can only theorize how the events will play out, but this is an exciting time for Fortnite fans.
