Extra Salt Overpower Team paiN at DH Open March NA Finals.


Extra Salt defeated Team paiN in the DreamHack Open March 2021: North America challenge held on Sunday. Booking their place at the Intel Extreme Masters XVI Summer event, scheduled for June 3-13. They’ll join VOYVODA, Complexity Gaming and Heroic who already secured spots through the European qualifiers. They’ll also be competing in the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final to be held April 19-26.

An impressive performance from Extra Salt

Wrapping things up after winning the championship with an incredible win with a reward of $35,000 USD and 100 Pro Tour points. As the runner-up Team paiN were awarded $15,000 USD and 80 Pro Tour points in the tournament.

Josh “oSee” Ohm ended the event as the highest-rated player. He played a big role in ensuring the win of Extra Salt; scoring a rating of 1.38.

PaiN did manage an amazing start on Inferno, racing ahead to an 8-2 lead on the offense of their chosen map. But then oSee scored a triple kill, bringing Extra Salt back in the lead game and ending the map with 16:12.

Both teams kept competing at the onset of Trainbut it ended as Extra Salt’s victory with results 16:13. The last map Mirage was the closest one with 16:14 win in favor of Extra Salt.

oSee stood out in the match with 79 kills, including a massive 30 kill-death differential, ensuring that win for Extra Salt. Wesley “hardzao” Lopes led the paiN team with 71 kills and 12 kill-death differential.

Osee, Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek and Justin “FaNg” Coakley were already a part of the Extra Salt roster. But Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado, A veteran in NA CS having played on Chaos, Swole Patrol, EUnited and NRG over the past 5 years, only joined Extra Salt in March.

Extra Salt is currently ranked 24 in the world.
